This is the first time I tried marketing in this way.  It is also my first attempt at a slide show and music combo.

I will be the first to admit that it is a bit rough round the edges and could do with some tidying up, OK a lot of tidying up.

But I have learned that you can spend a lifetime tidying up projects and never get one completed. 

I have so many unfinished projects and products gathering dust.  I shudder to think how much money I have lost by not getting them out there, because I was too busy trying to make them perfect.

It's sometimes better to just get it out there, rough though it may be (but thats not an excuse to market bad, second rate or shabby products).

Well here are my results.

It took about three hours to make the show.  Granted I had not done this before and I had a few sticking points.  If I were to do another I feel I could do it in half the time.

I uploaded the video to YouTube on March 29th 2007.  By April 29th 2007 it had received 203 views and had generated one sale earning me a $19.99 commission.

I did no promotion what so ever except load it up to YouTube.

So I am converting viewers at just under 0.5% which would be rubbish if I was buying traffic, but as the traffic is free I am quite happy.

I knew the program converted before hand, as I have been promoting it since it launched a couple of years ago.  So I felt this was a good program to test out.  Had I picked an affiliate program that I didn’t know converted I may have dismissed the whole YouTube system where the affiliate product may have actually been the problem

So will I do it again?

Absolutely – but before I do I am going to actually promote my YouTube video a bit first.
